Øyvind Hellner is one of the founders of Insomnia (1982).
Hellner released "Wolf" in 1984 (re-released 2008 / ambolthue.com), regarded as the first noise oriented album ever published by a Norwegian artist. Today appreciated as an underground classic.
After Insomnia split for a while in 1983, Øyvind formed a noise trio with Espen Ursin (viola, effects) and Harald Fetveit (guitar, effects).
Øyvind is also a current member of the drone oriented duo "Electric Norwegique", with Roar Borge.
"Wolf and The Gang" (former "Wolfgang") is a live project led by Hellner, where the members come and go suitable to the occation.
"Monday the 21." is a group that consists of Øyvind Hellner, Martin Powell and Roar Borge. The group solely performs when the calendar says Monday 21.
